I have covered several drives here in the past and to be fair some of these are quite the kit with James Bond ringing about them and this one is no different but it has a trick up its sleeve compared to others when it comes to the tech aspect.

Data Browser Provides Granular Data Recovery

It is an ideal choice when you only require a few specific items from a large source file.

Backup Exec File Repair

My Windows Backup file is unreadable, corrupt or missing. Will SecureRecovery for Backup restore full access to my data?

SecureRecovery for Backup is a safe and effective way to recover Windows Backup files in a usable state. To determine whether it will recover your backups, we recommend the demo version of the software, which can provide a list of recoverable and unrecoverable files or analyze an individual backup file to evaluate recoverability.

Remember that any software can potentially overwrite data if used incorrectly. For the best results, we strongly recommend making multiple copies of any corrupt or unreadable Backup files before running this software.

Why should I use the demo version of SecureRecovery for Backup?

The demo version is completely free and allows you to evaluate the tool’s capabilities. It helps you make an informed data recovery decision before you spend any money.

How is SecureRecovery for Backup’s demo version different from its full version?

When you run the demo version, it will only recover the structure of the original file with demo placeholders in place of actual data. This allows you to see what is recoverable.

The full version of the software doesn’t have this limitation and can fully recover your Windows Backup files.

How can I choose an appropriate license option?

Different license options are appropriate for different types of commercial and private use. Please consult our Licensing page for a detailed description of the differences between versions.

If I have an Enterprise or Service license, can I use the command line to run this program?

Yes. The command line feature is not available for the standard version of SecureRecovery for Backup.

To use the command line, you will need to use the following command line call:

bkr.exe “”

Be sure to make the directory for the recovered Microsoft Backup files before starting the actual recovery. When using Command Line, you can replace groups of symbols with ‘*’ and individual symbols with ‘?’.

My recovered Windows Backup files seem smaller than usual. Is this normal?

Yes. SecureRecovery for Backup identifies permanent file damage and replaces it with blank space where appropriate, which can reduce the overall size of the recovered data. However, this doesn’t necessarily affect the usability of the recovered backup.

There are several other reasons that recovered data might seem smaller. SecureRecovery for Backup may not recognize some of the features associated with a certain backup, and will not reproduce those missing features. If you are using the demo version of the software, you will only recover the basic structure of the Backup file, with demo placeholders where the actual data would normally be. As a result, the file will appear much smaller than usual. Upgrading to the full version will remove this limitation.
