I have covered several drives here in the past and to be fair some of these are quite the kit with James Bond ringing about them and this one is no different but it has a trick up its sleeve compared to others when it comes to the tech aspect.

Lotus Notes File Repair

I have lost, corrupted, deleted or otherwise damaged Lotus Notes files. Will this software restore my data?

SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes is a safe, effective and secure way to restore Lotus Notes files. While success rates are high overall, the program’s results can vary from one case to the next depending on various factors, including the size of the affected files and the location of file corruption.

The best way to determine whether this utility will work for your Lotus Notes files is to download the demo version. The demo is completely free and will identify recoverable files, evaluate corruption, and show you the strings that it can restore in each form.

How is the demo version different from the licensed version of SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes?

The demo version will not fully recover your Lotus Notes files. Instead, it will recover about 20 strings (dependent on the number of strings in the original form) and replace the other strings with “demo” placeholder text. The placeholder text is used to identify unrecoverable strings -- if a form or another element is missing in the demo output, it cannot be recovered by the full-featured version of the software.

All licensed versions of SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes are free from output limitations.

I want to purchase a license. Which licensing option is right for me?

You will need to review our Licensing page to choose the right option.

Does this application support command line functionality, and can I create batch files to automate the data recovery process?

Yes, SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes supports command line usage, but you will need either the Service or the Enterprise license in order to access this feature. Use the following call:

lnr.exe “”

Angle brackets are not needed. When you access the tool through the command line, you can use standard patterns; ‘*’ replaces groups of symbols, while ‘?’ replaces individual symbols.

Remember to create a directory for the recovered Lotus Notes files before running the tool from the command line (this also applies to any batch files you create to automate SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes).

I successfully ran SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes. The program created a folder with a batch file and one or more DXL scripts. How do I access these in Lotus Notes?

You will need to process each DXL script. While you can perform this procedure manually, the batch file can perform all of the necessary processes.

SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes uses a Database Creation Utility, which provides an effective alternative to manual re-insertion of all of the recovered data. Run this wizard and follow all of the steps for an easy import.

I receive error messages when loading my recovered files, or I cannot rebuild my database. How can I fix this problem?

First, make sure to run the batch file. It is located in the same folder as the DXL scripts and is called runme.cmd.

This should create the database automatically, starting from scratch. Make sure to submit a valid path to the notes.exe file. Do not put spaces into the path.

If you see error messages while processing the batch file and you are unable to create a new file, try reinstalling Lotus Notes.

My Lotus Notes files appear smaller in size after the recovery process. Is this a serious problem?

Not typically. This is a normal result, and it occurs because of the way that SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes treats corrupt or unrecoverable data. Instead of recreating unusable information, it replaces the damaged areas with blank space. Additionally, some recoveries will omit certain features of your Lotus Notes files if these features are unsupported or if data corruption is severe.

It is also crucial to note that the demo version of SecureRecovery for Lotus Notes will only recover a controlled number of strings. It replaces additional forms with placeholder text, so the files created by the demo are usually much smaller than your original files.
