I have covered several drives here in the past and to be fair some of these are quite the kit with James Bond ringing about them and this one is no different but it has a trick up its sleeve compared to others when it comes to the tech aspect.

What are the differences between the demo and full versions of Recovery for Calc?

The free demo version of SecureRecovery for Calc allows you to determine whether your files are recoverable without spending any money. However, it is limited to a small number of cells. After the limit is reached, additional cells will have placeholder text. Missing placeholder text could indicate that a cell is unrecoverable.

The full version of the software does not have any limits on the number of recoverable cells. Please note that if a cell does not appear in a demo recovery (and no placeholder text is in place), it may not be recoverable with the full version of the software.

How can I decide whether this program will recover my spreadsheets?

The easiest way to determine whether SecureRecovery for Calc will work for you is to try the demo version of the software. The output should provide the information you need to make an informed decision.

Our software is designed to treat many different types of data loss, including spreadsheet corruption and accidental deletion. To protect your files, make sure to back up your data before making any recovery attempts.

When I look at the file sizes of my recovered spreadsheets, they seem smaller than usual. Is this a result of the data recovery process?

Yes, this is normal. It occurs for one of several reasons.

First of all, the demo version of the software uses placeholder text, which may reduce the size of some cells, thereby reducing the total size of the files. This is the most common reason for discrepancies. SecureRecovery for Calc may also use blank data for permanently damaged areas of your file, which can reduce the size (the file is often completely readable and usable). Finally, if your Calc spreadsheet uses unusual features not supported by the SecureRecovery for Calc program, these features may not be reproduced in the recovered file.

What software license should I choose?

Please visit the Licensing page for a detailed description of different license options.

How can I use Recovery for Calc with batch files or through the command line?

The Command Line can be accesses through the Windows Start / Run menu, and both the Enterprise and Server versions of the software support Command Line functionality. The Standard license is designed for personal use and does not support this feature.

To use a command line call, enter:

ooc.exe “”

Do not use any angle brackets. To input patterns, replace groups of symbols with the ‘*’ modifier and replace single symbols with ‘?’. It is important to create the recovery directory before running the software through the Command Line. Otherwise, the recovery process may encounter unexpected issues.
