I have covered several drives here in the past and to be fair some of these are quite the kit with James Bond ringing about them and this one is no different but it has a trick up its sleeve compared to others when it comes to the tech aspect.

Will SecureRecovery for Writer restore my files to a usable condition?

Many factors can affect recoverability, but SecureRecovery for Writer can successfully treat most types of damage including file corruption and deletion. If you cannot read your Writer documents or if they appear garbled, incomplete or unusable, SecureRecovery for Writer is a simple and powerful way to restore your data.

We offer a free demo version of this software, which lets you easily determine whether your Writer files are recoverable before you pay. We recommend downloading the software and following the on-screen prompts to determine whether your data is recoverable. After downloading the demo version of SecureRecovery for Writer, you will be able to view a list of potentially recoverable and unrecoverable files.

For the safest possible process, we strongly recommend backing up your original Writer documents before you proceed with your recovery attempt.

How is the demo version different from the full version of the software?

The demo version only recovers a limited number of words from each paragraph. It is designed to show you whether or not your files are recoverable. The full version of the software does not have these restrictions.

After I use the demo, will I be able to unlock the full-featured version?

Yes. The demo will help you determine whether SecureRecovery for Writer is an appropriate option for your data.

Which product license is right for me?

View the Licensing page for a full description of the different licensing options available. Home users will usually prefer standard licensing, but the other options offer a better value for regular users.

Why is my recovered file smaller than my original file?

If SecureRecovery for Writer cannot read damaged sections of a file, it will discard those bits of data. This can cause a decrease in file size. This is normal and usually does not result in any serious issues.

In some cases, features of the original document will become unreadable due to partially overwritten data (for instance, advanced formatting). The other data in your document may be accessible. Also, the demo version of the software only recovers a portion of the document, which results in a smaller file size.

What about command line access? Is this a supported feature?

SecureRecovery for Writer supports the command line prompt with an Enterprise or a Service license. Command line access is useful when creating batch files.

The call for the command line is as follows, without angle brackets, and you can use ‘*’ and ‘?’ patterns to represent groups of patterns or individual patterns.

oow.exe “”

Always create the recovery directory (which stores the recovered Writer files) before you run the SecureRecovery for Writer application.
