Will this software recover a damaged or corrupt Visual FoxPro database?
SecureRecovery for DBF is an advanced utility that can repair many Visual FoxPro databases by restoring lost or corrupted information.
To decide whether this software is an appropriate option, you should download the demo version, which can identify recoverable databases and give you the information you need to decide whether or not to purchase the full-featured version.
Before installing or running SecureRecovery for DBF, we recommend making complete backups of all Visual FoxPro databases. Never run data recovery software without a backup.
How does the demo version of SecureRecovery for DBF work?
The demo version works in exactly the same manner as the full-featured version, but it is only capable of recovering a limited number of rows from your Visual FoxPro databases. It replaces the other recoverable rows with placeholder text (along with null values for non-text fields).
The full version of SecureRecovery for DBF will recover all of the fields with placeholder or null text; however, it cannot recover fields that are not present in the output of the demo version. By looking at the demo output, you can determine whether SecureRecovery for DBF will completely recover your missing databases.
Which product license option is right for me?
You will need a product license that is appropriate for your circumstances, and because different product versions have different functionality, we recommend visiting our Licensing page to understand your options before you make a purchase.
Can I run this from the command line or create batch files to recover multiple Visual FoxPro databases?
Yes, this feature is available with the Enterprise and Service licenses. It is not available, however, with the Standard license.
To perform a command line call, use the following format without angle brackets:
dbf.exe “”
You can replace a single symbol by using a question mark (‘?’) and replace groups of symbols with an asterisk (*). Always create the directory for your recovered Visual FoxPro database files before running a recovery attempt.
My recovered databases seem to have smaller-than-average file sizes. Why is this?
SecureRecovery for DBF replaces damaged sections of your database, reducing the overall size of the file. As a result, recovered databases often appear physically smaller (although they are not necessarily damaged or unusable). The demo version uses placeholder text and null fields, which will also result in a smaller file size. This is completely normal.
